Newspaper agony aunt Sally Brampton dies 'walking into sea' aged 60 after depression battle
Newspaper agony aunt and ex-magazine editor Sally Brampton has died aged 60 after apparently walking into the sea following a battle with depression.
Sally, who was the founding editor of the UK Elle magazine, was seen going into the water near her home in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, friends said.
Police confirmed a woman's body was pulled ashore by a member of the public after being spotted at around 2.30pm yesterday.
Sally, who wrote an advice column for the Daily Mail and was a former Sunday Times agony aunt, had spoken publicly about her long-running fight against depression to raise awareness.
